A small dream becomes a vibrant restaurant in East-end Toronto
My husband and I opened Pomarosa in 2017, with a big dream to bring a little piece of Venezuela to The Danforth. During this time, I was on maternity leave while we cared for our new baby. With the chaos of starting a family and a brand new business simultaneously, Pomarosa fueled our entrepreneurial spirits and eased our homesickness. Luis and I grew up eating Arepas in our Venezuelan and Colombian hometowns, propelling our passion for satisfying the cravings for Latin flavours missing from Toronto’s East end. Our vision was to develop a warm and inviting space for customers to enjoy premium coffee, fruity, Venezuelan-inspired smoothies, and traditional food made with love.
Pomarosa’s three-year rollercoaster of a journey quickly turned into a local hotspot for neighbours and residents of The Danforth to eat, drink, socialize, and get to know our friendly staff. Our devotion to offering an amazing experience for all customers has evolved Pomarosa into being part of a larger community. Every individual who walks into our restaurant will feel like they are on a mini-vacation. Now, Luis has devoted his full time to Pomarosa, and we have been so grateful to watch our not-so-little baby celebrate many of her milestones here, surrounded by family and friends.
Distinctive and Bold
We have a lot of love, passion, and respect for our country’s cuisine, and believe that our Latin flavours should be shared and celebrated among all cultures. We invite you to visit us at 1504 Danforth Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, to experience a little piece of Venezuela for yourself!
